TG’s Cravings

This afternoon my family and I had a craving for a good hamburger. So naturally I took it upon myself to find a burger place that we had never been to. TG’s was down the street from where we were so we went there.

When we first entered the restaurant it was almost empty, except one other family. Which is probably due to its location.

The waiter came over to our table and told us how to order at the counter and gave us some complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were decent and the salsa was homemade with a bit of heat to it.

And then he returned to the table to let us know what he would recommend since it was our first time (and there are 80 items on the menu).

The first burger he recommended, very enthusiastically, was the lava burger. And since I was too hungry to look through all 80 items, I ordered the lava burger.

As the picture shows the burger is constructed to look like a little volcano. The base of lettuce and tomatoes, followed by the chargrilled beef patty with cheese, topped with two onion rings and spicy mayo.

The spicy mayo is the first thing I tasted when I bit into the burger, probably from the plethora of sauce that was spilling out of it. The sauce was definitely more spicy than I thought it would be, but not completely unenjoyable.

Everything else about the burger was pretty good. I was enjoying the burger until I was about 2/3 of the way done with the burger and my patty meat went from cooked all the way through to quite pink.

If the burger hadn’t have been pink towards the end I would have eaten this entire burger. Luckily the curly fries were pretty good so I satisfied my hunger with eating the fries.
